As an exercise in mapping out systems, my group identified relevant players and connections to the decline of pollinators in Western Pennsylvania. We began by making a pen-and-paper “mess map” of all players, organizations, stakeholders, problems, and impacts that we could think of. After researching the problem further, we came up with a more formal visual and informational structure to help us clarify the problem, actors, and potential areas for intervention.
